Description

An Impactful Opportunity in One of the World’s Most Distinctive Locations

Saint Helena is a place of striking contrasts—remote yet connected, traditional yet ambitious. At the heart of its infrastructure lies Connect Saint Helena Ltd., a commercially operated, government-owned utility provider at the heart of life on St Helena Island. Employing over 70 people, it delivers electricity, water and wastewater services to the island’s community, operating within a regulated and highly visible environment.

The organisation’s focus is firmly on building resilient, modern infrastructure that can meet the island’s future needs.

About the Role

Reporting to the Technical Manager (Electricity), the Senior Renewable Energy Engineer will support delivery of the Energy Delivery Plan - an evolving roadmap to achieve 80% renewable electricity generation on the island.

You will combine technical expertise with programme leadership, shaping projects from early design and market engagement through to delivery, governance and stakeholder management. The role will see you working closely with senior leaders, suppliers and funders to ensure projects are viable, funded and effectively implemented.

This is a rare opportunity to influence an entire energy system in a setting where your work will have direct and lasting impact.

What You’ll Bring

We are seeking a qualified engineer with strong experience in renewable energy and project delivery. You will bring a track record of delivering complex energy projects and managing programmes in practical settings. You will be commercially aware, organised and adaptable, with the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Most importantly, you will be motivated by the chance to help deliver a meaningful energy transition in a unique and globally significant environment.
